Verona in Love 2012

English
Verona love
Valentines Day and Verona have always gone hand in hand, but this year in the most romantic city in the world there is just too much love for one day, so love will be all around and celebrated from the 11th until the 14th February.

Events and restaurants, exhibitions and romantic films, but best of all, special offers on accommodation are available for romantic couples. Stroll through Verona’s ancient streets decorated with hearts and flowers, stand amazed, as the Torre dei Laberti turns pink, and enjoy all kinds of live music from brass to classical and more modern music too.

As well as special offers on accommodation there’s another fantastic special offer - for just one Euro you can have access to two of the landmarks made famous in Shakespeare’s drama – Juliet’s tomb and her house. The Juliet Club has an exhibition on the customs and history of the city, and there’s an opportunity to be Juliet for the day – without the unhappy ending.

On Saturday the 11th February at 18:15 make your way to the Piazza dei Signori, where couples can enter the ‘heart’ of the city and seal their love with a kiss lasting one minute. During this time, the scene will be immortalised in film and photographs…how romantic.
Piazza dei Signori during Verona In Love
Sunday sees a romantic market, with stalls in the shape of a heart. On sale will be local products, themed gifts and free wine tastings; there will also be a reconstruction of Juliet’s balcony, another perfect photo opportunity.

You can also send a message from the heart. Write your romantic message on the bulletin board of Verona in Love, and receive a free gift. If writing’s not your thing why not why not take a shot of love at the photo exhibition; every day has something special to put you in the mood for romance.

And finally…the city of the star-crossed lovers simply could not celebrate Valentines Day without a performance of the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet. The original script from Shakespeare is performed in the courtyard of Juliet, which will undoubtedly be packed; the show starts at 6.30pm, so get there early!

Don’t forget those two important words…Ti Amo, I love you!
