Detox at beautiful Lake Garda

Thermal park
The Christmas and New Year celebrations always pile on a few extra pounds, or maybe you’ve made a resolution to get in shape in 2012, but whatever your reasons for choosing a spa break, Lake Garda is the perfect destination.

Around the lake there are spas with thermal baths dating back to the Romans. These are where, summer or winter, you can enjoy the waters. These are two which you might like to try:
Thermal Park Garda

Thermal Park Garda is located within the grounds of Villa dei Cedri, on the southern part of the lake. The spa offers everything from sport to wellbeing, and relaxation; there are also walks through the majestic, ancient trees leading down to the lake. During the winter, the thermally heated waters of the lake are accessed via a warm gazebo, a winter room which is heated and equipped with every comfort and that includes a tunnel that goes directly to the lake. This is where the hot water (33- 34 °C) will protect you from the cold, even when it is freezing outside. The lake is a fantastic experience, there are hydro massage pools (some of them at 37 °C), massage jets and a grotto.

Aquaria is the newest luxury wellness centre at Terme di Sirmione. It’s the ideal place for relaxing with top class wellness facilities which will promote psychophysical balance, energy, beauty and inner harmony. From the thermal pools with hydro massages, effervescent beds, swan-neck jets, aroma-chromatic showers and vascular program, you can move on to the wellness cabins where you can enjoy beauty and health treatments, or to the gym, with all the most modern equipment.
The view from the pools and from inside are fantastic; you can admire the lake while you are relaxing in the hot water (34 - 36 °C). There are 700 square metres of swimming pools, some inside and some outside, reached by a tunnel that allows you to enjoy the park even during the winter.

These spa resorts are not just great during the winter, they are open all year round, so whether you’re trying to keep up a new fitness regime, or you’re enjoying holiday in Verona or Lake Garda, they are a wonderful experience.
