Around Verona

Day-trip to Lake Garda (east coast)

Lake Garda East cost... maybe it makes you laugh, but this lake is really big, so I prefer to use this way to tell about the east side of the lake. This is my favorite part of it because it's under the province of Verona (as you know my town) and it is the most traditional one with its villages full of history and nice spots where typical remains. If you want to visit the east side of lake Garda you won't find many big cities that are good for shopping and nightlife, but small towns with castles, old villas, little harbors and fascinating panoramas.

Thermal Bath near Verona

Some of them are parks and some of them are more similar to a Spa with professional services. For a relaxing holiday Verona could be what you are searching for. A walk on Bardolino-Garda itinerary

One of the best places for a healthy walk is the pedestrian walkway between two cities on Garda Lake: Bardolino and Garda. If you spend your holiday in Verona, you probably know that Lake Garda is not so far, so it's worth spending a day out of town. If you just want to relax and have a walk there is a place that offers you everything you need. The walkway between Bardolino and Garda is one of the best of the lake. It is called Rivalunga that translated means "long side".

Day-trip to Lake Garda (west coast)

Sunday sunny sunday, it isn't a song by U2, but the summary of a day-trip I've made this weekend. You can maybe get inspired by this post when you decide to spend your holiday in Verona.

Holiday Verona - what to do in 3 days

Sometimes people ask me what is worth seing in Verona and wich places must be visited around the city if you have just a weekend holiday. There are many tips and many alternative solutions I could give you for your visit, so I will post more than one article about this with my recommendations and my ideas.
This option is probably better for couples or a group of friends (adult).

Day One - visit Verona city center

Day-trip to Schio

I've started to talk about the day-trips from Verona when I wrote the post about Venice; this time I don't want to speak of a famous city, I prefer to give you some information about another place near Verona that is less known abroad, but that is worth seing, especially if you plan to spend a lot of time in Verona or Lake of Garda as well.

Malcesine Monte Baldo

Lake Garda Panorama from Baldo in Malcesine
If you spend your holiday in Verona, and if you like panoramas and nature, there is a place that is really worth seeing for a day-trip. If you have a car you can drive toward Lake Garda, to Malcesine, a small city on the lake. Here you will find directions to the cableway. This attraction is perfect during all the time of the year, for winter holidays or for summer holidays too. The cableway departing station is a few metres from the lake and even from here the view is fantastic because this part of Lake Garda is among high mountains.

Entertainment in Verona

Verona offers a lot of entertainment, especially during the summer and especially on Lake Garda. This is one of the best areas in Italy for funny holidays.
There are solutions for relax, for music, theme parks, concerts, theater, day-trips, water sports, restaurants and culture.

Lake Garda

Near Verona there is the largest italian lake, the lake Garda, also called Benaco. All the alpine region around this lake was formed by glaciers at the end of the last ice age and know it's one of the most beautiful areas of northern Italy thanks to its unique landscape.
The northern part of the lake is narrower, surrounded by high mountains, wich the main one is called Baldo and the southern part is wider. Its shape is typical of a moraine valley, probably formed by slidings and erosion of an old Paleolithic glacier. The bottom of the lake is very deep and in some points it looks like a real sea (350m depth).
